Re: NEW SERVER
Sorry for picking ompf2.com... Should have been .org, like the old ompf. This will have to do. :) It looks like I'm still not getting account activation emails sadly; I was hoping this would be fixed now. If you are reading this and waiting for account activation, mail me, and I'll sort it out manua...

Re: NEW SERVER
You got here via the mass e-mail? I hope everyone received that... It's possible that a few users disabled that feature.

Re: Latex formula support ?
Arite, thanks for the detailed instructions!
Test:
We can derive de Moivre's formula using Euler's formula:
\[
\left( \cos{\theta} + i \sin{\theta} \right)^n = \left( e^{i\theta} \right)^n = e^{i (n \theta)} = \cos{(n \theta)} + i \sin{(n \theta)}
\]
EDIT: Seems to work. Will this do for now?

I believe this older paper is performing stepping through curved surfaces:

Forum updated
Hi all, The forum software has been updated to the latest version. This should solve issues with spam and control panels not being accessible. Spam increased to ~100 messages a day, so that's good news. Related to this, I deleted 700 fake users. This may include 'lurkers', so if this includes you, p...

Ph.D. thesis
Hi all, I am pleased to announce that yesterday I successfully defended my thesis on Ray Tracing in Real-time Games, at the Technical University of Delft. The text is available as of now, from the following url: http://igad.nhtv.nl/~bikker/files/thesis_jbikker.pdf The inception of OMPF pretty much c...
Re: Spam
Maintenance is not done yet. :) I need to upgrade to the latest version to get rid of all the spammers, but a previous attempt failed horribly making the admin panel inaccessible. I need to do a manual backup of the database (without using the build-in backup function), then reinstall, then restore ...
Re: Spam
Sorry about that. Board needs some serious maintenance, and I didn't have time. Thesis defense in November.dylan wrote:I've tried to make a few posts (related to getting MLT working), none are getting through. I also would not like to be blocked/deleted.

Re: Spam
Can I suggest a couple of changes to registration which might reduce spam: Change the CAPTCHA from the default to reCAPTCHA (need to register domain with google, but then should work fine - it's been built into phpBB for a while). Add in a custom profile field for registration - for more info see h...
