Re: Measure the convergence speed
I believe these are 2 different use cases. For measuring the performance of your rendering algorithm, I'd suggest something like mean squared error (pixel values vs. converged reference image) curves plotted over time. Indeed, as you say, talking about FPS, SPS or MRPS is pointless when comparing fu...

Search not working
Hi all, I'm having trouble with the search function. The error I get is along the lines of: The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: bidirectional tracing path . You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 cha...

Re: Working Color Spaces
Thanks for the revised explanation and the plots! That's all clear now. The conversion from a reduced number of bands to Spectrum is not defined. There are an infinite number of conversions possible. The linear combination of capturing filters weighted by those coefficients will get you a Spectrum i...

Re: Working Color Spaces
Hi ypoissant. For the color space experiments, I first converted the spectra to XYZ and then to the selected color space using different conversion method from a single sample in the middle of the filter center frequency to a whole filter envelope and rendered and did all the illumination calculatio...

2009 presumably refers to "Understanding the Efficiency of Ray Traversal on GPUs", but 2012 is unclear, since Timo Aila's home page only cites one paper in 2012 ... Scroll down to Technical Reports ; it refers to Understanding the Efficiency of Ray Traversal on GPUs -- Kepler and Fermi Ad...

Re: OpenCL works on Nvidia cards after all?
Yes, OpenCL 1.1 has been supported for a while, but the performance is usually not up to par.
