Re: CUDA 10 available

It looks like we'll only be able to access the ray tracing hardware via OptiX / Vulcan / DX12. No CUDA. If your renderer is implemented in CUDA, you can call OptiX from CUDA, but you don't get to use the hardware directly. Add to that that this is a feature promised for Optix 5.2, which is not avail...

Re: Something's wrong with the RSS and forum posting

It's back to http. Should be better now.
EDIT: that didn't solve it. :(
EDIT2: now it seems to be working.
EDIT3: now also with https, by deselecting something about forcing https. I did it. :ugeek:

Re: Something's wrong with the RSS and forum posting

The domain was recently transferred to me (it was being paid for by my previous employer, and the files are still hosted there), and in the process we moved to https. That's the only change that could have caused this. I am not sure if the https has any benefits (for us), so I will turn it off for n...

Re: DXR

Hi Martin, thanks for your reply!
Re: your reply: "Deformation" as in "refitting"? How many triangles can you rebuild per frame, and is this done on the GPU? And could you say something about the ray throughput of the system for average scenes (~100k tris or so)?

DXR

I've been reading some materials and watching videos on DXR over the past couple of days. Some observations: - The good looking demos use 3 or 4 Titan V's. - In all cases, it's rasterization as a basis with ray tracing effects added. - All motion is rigid, i.e. no acceleration structure reconstructi...
