Re: Indirect lighting through subsurface diffusion

stand corrected. being silly. just in a bit of shell shock after writing my last fractal tracer, (im currently on a high horse) i got to learn its all commercial advertising media and plenty of people can do it - ever since ages ago... i still have to get it out of my system yet, but itll dawn event...

Re: Indirect lighting through subsurface diffusion

god everyones renders look so sterilized like a hospital!
max resolution + simplified scene.

Surface scratches and some more light sources would definitely help the issue a bit.

Re: Glitch Pictures anyone?

That last head render is nice, like the dithering on the skin. As far as a glitch from me, im not sure what to post cause the whole thing is one. :) If a glitch is anything unintentional, the whole thing is really. I think mistakes are the most beautiful part of developing anything in life. Starts o...

Re: OpenSource Brigade 2 alternative?

Nice1, looks like a multibounce system. wish I could see a bit more of it tho. One thing I know now, is getting a single bounce perfect is worth more than any amount of bounces in a recursive multibounce system. check this out - and its just rastering-> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzBwp0rjwvU No...

Interesting things that make my framework d...

Re: skybox lit fractal landscape raytracing

Yeh sure.

I use a really small noise texture, no more than 64x64, that way I dont abuse the cache, and then I apply it at different frequencies and perturb x and z due to altitude to create cliffs.

The secret is keeping the texture small... then the rays go through ALOT quicker.
