Re: Reflect / Brigade2

Also about diffuse color\light separation: On first hit always do all diffuse\reflection\refraction paths if material have it, do not take it by random, no matter on spp (otherwise we need to denoise primary diffuse picture too). Only primary diffuse hits (from each required path) goes to diffuse pi...

Re: Reflect / Brigade2

Here visual explanation of smart blur algorithm:

Of course it's not so advanced as classic renders sobol or metropolis samplers, but it's simple and fast, so we can extend blur window and achieve better quality on low spp and high speed.

Re: Reflect / Brigade2

Idea is very simple: we separate diffuse color and light power (which is noisy). And we have such light picture:...

Re: smallluxgpu4 as game engine?

Per-pixel sampler http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG2W5c40Kpc 60fps at sky :D (opengl vsync limits) 200M rays\s ;) Source video file http://lion.rusfur.net/smalluxgpu4_realtime_perpixel_sampler.avi Found that at least Nvidia driver waste CPU time in oclQueue.finish(); and event.wait(), so ocl thread ...

Re: smallluxgpu4 as game engine?

Voxels consumes lots of ram, even with compression. It can be used locally, but for large exterior better use polygons or other simple primitives like spheres.
