PS: sanmiguel.obj is perfect test scene for traversal :D PPS: I've try sanmiguel.obj with embree on CPU and in shows almost same performance for primary rays, lol. May be it's not so crazy idea make second diffuse traversal on CPU? ..and you can write kernels that can run twice as fast as embree+is...

On CPU, the fastest practical approach is straight MBVH traversal. For first bounce diffuse rays, Tsakok's MBVH/RS is optimal. after startup it looks like the movie. when i press f1 it messes up => have to play with bri/contr. to get it back and -dof (to blurry).
is it possible to get an unscaled version at this resolution ? it runs here at 98fps.

first of all, great demo. long time no demo anymore here on ompf. some remarks though: everything looks really blocky and diffuse upsampling ?). the lighting is flat. is there no hdr pipeline or a strange tonemapper in place ? i am running here with dual titans and expected a little bit more quality...

keep in mind that the titan has 2x the horsepower of phi. so phi
is not a bad platform for rt/pt.

Just curious... if you run 8 bounces in Sibenik Cathedral or something with even more occlusion/visibility complexity, what kind of ray throughput do you see? Any luck getting numbers for Titan yet? yes titan (serveral) are in place. as i said above, both are more or less equal in performing diffus...
