Re: Boosting Monte Carlo Rendering by Ray Histogram Fusion

Very interesting.
You need external buffers to store histogram information at each pixel, but still good results and I think this is fast enough to do in real-time :)

avoid rejection sampling

Hi guys, I have problem about rejection sampling. I have surface with perturbed normals(smooth shaded or perturbed with normal map) and I want to evaluate BRDF to get reflected ray. There is a probability that angle between reflected ray direction and face normal may be greater then π/2. In this cas...

Re: Renderer Unit Testing

Thanks, answer was really helpful! :)
In this case Injection of sample generator would be solution.
End of every month project becomes unstable and finally I decided to cover with tests :)
I think it's really good way.

Renderer Unit Testing

I'm interested to cover my code with tests, but some parts isn't clear. Assume I have some function getCosineWeightedRandomDirection which generates vectors randomly and I know that in infinity it will be distributed as desired. How I can test this function, to ensure that it's not correlated? If I'...

Re: Colibri Renderer

I calculating images using stratified sampling in every pass and accumulating it in image accumulator. In this step I calculate per pixel variances and use it to get new number of samples per each pixel. Right of 4th image are shown spp in gradient colors. This is old version, It's better to calcula...

Colibri Renderer

Hello everyone! :) This is my first post in this forum and I'm very glad about that. Finally I found people, who has knowledge in Computer Graphics and I can share my experience :) My name is Irakli Koiava. I'm on last course of Computer Science Master's Program at Tbilisi State University. Unfortun...
