Re: Fujiyama Renderer v0.1.6 released

There are, at least, 3-4 well establish open source renderers out there; people should consider to contribute to them. Namely....? I can think of some... PBRT, Mitsuba, Sunflow, Cycles (? Sorry, kind of ignorant on recent blender development), Embree. Just curious what you are thinking of in case I...

Re: New renderer, WIP

Started working on a new renderer. Very early WIP shot. Lots and lots of things to implement before it's correct. Like proper mutation probabilities, correct spectrum distribution instead of a made up one. Better intersection code and so on.... Also lot of optimizations and additional mutation stra...

Re: 5 faces / FLT

Cool. From his writeup it sounds like only secondary rays were traced, using a two-level brick map. I was really impressed when his triangles started deforming, flowing, shattering, etc. :)

Re: Solid angle of triangle

I believe I wrote some code to compute the exact projected solid angle of a triangle clipped to the horizon. This is from http://svn.kevinbeason.com/pane/trunk/PaneDirect.cxx // compute projected solid area using Stoke's thm // from Improving Radiosity Solutions // through the Use of Analytically De...

Re: Vertex merging paper and SmallVCM

Wow, very cool! The paper looks great, I love the javascript image comparison, plus SmallVCM looks really neat and comprehensive! I look forward to examining it further. Congrats and great work! I am curious though. The SmallVCM webpage makes a reference to "SimplePT", but I cannot find what this is...
