This has what to do with the original post? Nigga, you best be trollin'!! First, OP says he is using *CPU tracing*, and I told him that CPU tracing is the way to go. Second, he was talking about efficient rendering and voxels. Add so the best most efficient way is to use SVO. It's as simple as that...

CPU raytracing is best! Keep it simple!! CUDA = SHIT OpenCL = SHIT CPU = FTW. Knights Corner is to be released soon and it is supposedly/allegedly a 50-core CPU. And when the big super computer HPC data centers no longer want the card (because a better card from competitors exist), the demand for it...
