Re: Tone mapping theory ?

Can you explain more in details please ? You essentially need to think about what your input values actually represent. This already starts when you are using LDR-Images: What does a RGB value of 1, 1, 1 represent? It is not candela or any other light unit. It is not even really a meaningfull value...

Re: Tone mapping theory ?

My wild guess: Your input values are in a completely wrong range. Remember that the clear sky has about 8000 cd/m^2. So if you throw in an RGB value of 1,1,1 to a tonemapper it will be just black because it really is black. Another problem: There seems to be absolutly no specification about what the...

Re: ABg BSDF?

I was mainly looking for the formulas and probably some explainations for this model. The Pfisterer article seems to be what I am looking for. Will see if I can get a hold on the books, too.

Thanks to you both

ABg BSDF?

Hi,

does anyone know where I could find some informations about the ABg BSDF Model? I remember a discussion back on the old ompf but since that site is down I can´t find it anymore.

Thanks

Re: MIS question

You don´t get any fireflies if you don´t use MIS for the diffuse component. Fireflies happen when you randomly hit a bright spot which can happen when you sample the brdf but not when you sample the lightsource (like in this case).

Re: complex rendering

Hold your horses: He said that the HDR they are using for lighting is 28000x14000 pixel - which is large but also pretty much irrelevant since also smaller resolutions don´t fit into any cache. The render resolution was FullHD, so it´s 1920 x 1080 x 4spp x 6fps x 15 depth ( not considering the 2 ray...

Re: MIS question

Just wondering: You only apply the MIS-weight for the ray generated by the brdf if it hits a light source, right? In case it hits something else, the normal brdf-pdf is used. Or did I miss something?
