Sobol' sequences

I'm trying out Leonhard Gruenschloss's Sobol'-seqeunce generator from here: http://gruenschloss.org/ The first two dimensions look as expected (0,1): http://i.imgur.com/4iDfBKG.jpg but higher dimensions show the poor projections that I thought the "better 2d projections" paper was supposed to avoid....

Re: GACV : robust numerical integration method

This sounds interesting! Can you share the preprint any other way? I can't create an account on that site to be able to view it.

Re: Comparison of spectral vs rgb rendering?

Thanks for all the replies guys. I had totally forgotten that PBRT could be compiled into either mode! Certainly spectral rendering is going to be expensive which is why I'm interested in doing some comparisons to see if it actually makes a difference for "normal" scenes rather than specially constr...

Comparison of spectral vs rgb rendering?

Is anyone aware of a good study of the quality of full spectral renders vs rgb renders? I did a quick google and didn't find much. I'm interested in seeing (as close as one can get to) direct comparisons to see if it would be worth adopting a spectral rendering solution.

Re: Dielectric BRDFs

How exactly is it "not working"? It just doesn't look right. The specular coefficient is very small for almost everything except glancing angles. To be fair, I haven't tried rendering real scenes with it--just the BRDF's specular looks too small. Ahhh I see. Just use a microfacet BRDF like Walter: ...

Re: Dielectric BRDFs

How exactly is it "not working"? The method you describe is what's usually done. How have you implemented it exactly?

Re: LuxVR: Virtual Reality with LuxRender (and OpenCL)

That is all kinds of awesome. I wonder though - what does the progressive update feel like when you're actually using it with a Rift? Must be a slightly crazy experience :D
